September 21, 1925 ~ February 5, 2018 (age 92)


Mrs. Dorothy Moss Williams, 92, of Pleasant Grove, AL, passed on Monday, February 5, 2018. Mrs. Williams was a native of Birmingham, AL and a long-time resident of Fairfield, AL. She was the only child born to the union of Fannie Lou Thomas Moss and Charlie Moss. She was educated in the Birmingham City School System where she graduated from A.H. Parker High School. Her life's ambition was to become a nurse from the early age of five years old. To that end, she became a 1946 graduate of Grady Municipal Nurse Training School, Atlanta, GA. She served the Fairfield community as a registered nurse (RN) at Lloyd Noland Hospital for 39 years. She married Robert Jemison, Jr. and to that union one child, Karen Elaine Jemison Terry, was born. In the mid 1960's, Mrs. Williams married the late Rev. E.W. Williams and became First Lady of First Baptist Church Fairfield. Before her recent illness, she was active with the Star Workers Sunday School and supported the Minnier B. Tolliver Mission Circle until her death. She loved music and played the piano. In 2015, she donated her piano to First Baptist where it is still being played today, in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Williams lived a beautiful, full life in which she believed in the Lord, served her community, and loved her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Karen Elaine Jemison Terry. She was a loving and wonderful aunt to Robert "TuTu" Jemison, LaSalle Denise Jemison Lundy, and Quyan Jemison Harper. She also leaves her cousins, who reside in Montgomery, AL, Matthew White, George White, Ann White and Tamika Young, and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church Fairfield. Church address is 324 - 59th Street, Fairfield, AL 35064. She will lie in repose Wednesday from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield directing.
