Essie Mae Pritchett Marks was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the proud parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Hadley Pritchett and the former Rosie Lee Wiggins on July 8, 1927. She was educated in the Birmingham Public School System and after leaving school, she was a dedicated employee of University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of South Elyton Baptist Church serving in several of the ministries until her health began to fail. Graveside Service will be saturday (10th) at 1:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery with her Pastor Reverend Reginald Brown officiating. Her loving survivors are: devoted daughters; Sadie Bridges, Diane Sublett, Shirley Ayler and Carolyn Floyd, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in repose on friday from 2:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
